Caring for the people who care
Families, friends and loved ones. We are here for you too.
When someone important to you becomes critically ill, it can bring uncertainty, fear, difficult decisions, and questions that nobody feels fully prepared for.
Family Compass (ICU) provides information, practical tools, and supportive resources for anyone navigating the critical illness of a loved one. This includes survivorship and the ongoing recovery journey.
Your loved one may be in ICU for a short period for close monitoring or while recovering from surgery, or they may be here for a longer period due to more complex illness or injury. Whatever has brought you here, we hope these resources will help.
While many patients do recover, sensitive support and resources are also available for families, friends and loved ones facing end-of-life care or bereavement.
Family Compass (ICU) resources are designed to help you better understand ICU, support conversations with healthcare teams, keep track of important events and information over time, and provide opportunities to check in with your own wellbeing.
You can explore the platform at your own pace and access resources that may be helpful to you at any stage of the ICU journey.
